Congrats to the Inaugural 2026 Class of IGEL Technology Professionals

Long before fiber optics and satellite constellations, mariners navigated by lighthouses – fixed points of certainty amid a shifting sea. Each beacon was built by a local community, maintained through storms, and trusted by sailors who would never meet the people who lit it. Yet every light served the same purpose: to guide others safely to their destination.

That’s what the IGEL Community does today. Every Slack post, blog, webinar, and local event presentation is a lighthouse for someone facing fog on the horizon. The IGEL Technology Professional (ITP) Program exists to recognize and reward those who keep those lights burning brightest – the individuals who create, share, teach, and elevate the craft of secure endpoint solutions with IGEL technology for all.

A New Tradition of Collective Intelligence

ITP was first announced at the IGEL Now & Next Frankfurt event by CEO Klaus Oestermann during his keynote on November 4th, 2025. My program introduction blog provided additional background on the “why” and “what” elements. I’d encourage everyone to read it over if you haven’t already.

The ITP award is more than a title. It’s a living network of technical storytellers, security thinkers, and EUC builders who advance the craft through open exchange. Much like the Linux community’s commitment to transparency and peer review, ITPs expand the practical knowledge that helps organizations deliver secure, performant workspaces centered around IGEL’s purpose-built endpoint OS.

Each one of our ITPs has demonstrated exceptional technical leadership through their many notable contributions. All this comes at a pivotal time for both IGEL and our ecosystem – customers are looking for clarity while moving faster than ever through a challenging IT landscape. If you’re an IGEL technical expert, you’re more than halfway there already. Engage with others in our Slack Community, help answer questions, post ideas, experiences, and suggestions. Write a blog (on your site or IGEL Community), share some scripts/code on GitHub, or perhaps create a deployment guide. The path to ITP for everyone is unique, but every path includes the elements of technical content creation and selfless sharing to others.

We invite you to keep sharing. Keep experimenting. Keep teaching.
