IGEL and Island: Helping Customers Modernize Their EUC Environments While Reducing Risk and Complexity

This week, IGEL Now & Next 2025, the Ultimate Endpoint Security and EUC Event of the Year, kicks off at the Congress Center at Frankfurt Messe. The event will feature keynote addresses by industry leaders and experts, as well as detailed sessions on Healthcare, Finance, Government, Retail, and Manufacturing sectors. Additionally, there will be breakout discussions focused on EUC and cybersecurity, along with presentations of innovative strategies, solutions, and insights from IGEL partners.

Among the IGEL Ready partners sponsoring and presenting at IGEL Now & Next Frankfurt is Island, which will demonstrate that by combining the IGEL Secure Endpoint OS Platform™ for now and next with the Island Enterprise Browser, organizations can simplify their EUC strategy, strengthen security, and improve the user experience.

We sat down with Peter Cooper, Channel EMEA at Island, to learn more about what attendees can expect to see and learn from the company at IGEL Now & Next 2025 in Frankfurt.

Could you tell us about your company and how you partner with IGEL?

Peter Cooper: Island.io is the creator of the Island Enterprise Browser, a secure, policy-controlled browser built specifically for the needs of the modern enterprise. By putting security, control, and visibility directly into the browser, Island enables organizations to protect critical data, improve productivity, and deliver a seamless user experience.

Our partnership with IGEL brings together the IGEL Secure Endpoint OS Platform™ for now and next with the Island Enterprise Browser, enabling organizations to deliver secure, high-performance access to SaaS, web, and virtualized applications from any endpoint. Together, we help customers modernize their EUC environments while reducing risk and complexity.

Island is honored to have received the IGEL Ready Application Excellence Partner of the Year Award in 2025.

What are some things your organization is doing with IGEL to shape what’s Now & Next in EUC?

Peter Cooper: We’re working closely with IGEL to enable secure, Zero Trust access to enterprise resources directly from IGEL OS-powered endpoints. By integrating the Island Enterprise Browser with IGEL OS, we’re helping organizations move toward a cloud-first, device-agnostic EUC model — one that supports hybrid work, simplifies endpoint management, and strengthens security without sacrificing user experience.

What are the advantages of combining IGEL’s Preventative Security Model™ with your solution offerings? How does it benefit our mutual customers?

Peter Cooper: IGEL’s Preventative Security ModelTM, when combined with the Island Enterprise Browser’s granular policy controls, data protection, and integrated security features, customers gain a layered defense that starts at the endpoint and extends into the application layer. This combination reduces the attack surface, prevents data leakage, and ensures compliance, all while enabling users to work from anywhere, on any device.

How has being a part of the IGEL Ready program improved your business or enhanced the customer experience?

Peter Cooper: The IGEL Ready program has accelerated our ability to deliver validated, integrated solutions to customers. It has expanded our reach into the EUC ecosystem, provided valuable joint marketing opportunities, and given customers confidence that our combined solutions are tested and supported. This has resulted in faster deployments, smoother rollouts, and improved overall user satisfaction.

Do you have any examples of joint customers who have benefited from working with Island and IGEL?

Peter Cooper: One of the world’s largest business process outsourcing (BPO) providers, with more than 410,000 employees across 88 countries. They needed to deliver secure, compliant, and high-performance access to applications for a massive, globally distributed workforce — many of whom work remotely or in bring-your-own-device (BYOD) environments.

By combining IGEL OS-powered endpoints with the Island Enterprise Browser, the customer was able to deploy flexible, granular security policies that adapt to each user’s role, location, and device posture. This approach allowed them to:

  • Eliminate the need for complex VPN setups
  • Protect sensitive client data across multiple industries
  • Maintain compliance with strict regulatory requirements
  • Improve the user experience for agents and supervisors alike

The result is a scalable, secure, and cost-effective EUC model that supports the customer’s rapid growth and diverse client base — all while reducing IT.

What key trends impact your partners and customers as we close out 2025? How is your organization addressing/aligning your solution offerings with these trends?

Peter Cooper: Key trends include:

  • Zero Trust adoption as the default security model
  • Hybrid and remote work as a permanent fixture
  • Cloud-first application delivery replacing traditional desktop models
  • Data protection and compliance in an increasingly regulated environment

Island addresses these trends by delivering security and control directly in the browser — the place where most work now happens — and by integrating seamlessly with the IGEL OS to support any work model.

Why is your organization sponsoring Now & Next 2025 Frankfurt?

Peter Cooper: We see IGEL Now & Next as the premier event for EUC innovation and thought leadership. Sponsoring allows us to connect directly with IGEL’s ecosystem of customers and partners, share our vision for secure, modern work, and demonstrate how the Island Browser can transform endpoint strategies.

What will you present to attendees at Now & Next 2025?

Peter Cooper: We’ll showcase live demonstrations of the Island Enterprise Browser running on IGEL OS, highlighting how organizations can:

  • Secure SaaS and internal web apps without VPNs
  • Enforce granular data protection policies
  • Enable frictionless, compliant hybrid work

We’ll also share customer success stories and best practices for combining IGEL and Island to modernize EUC.

Island’s Michael Mauch will present the following sessions:

  • Island Session: Transform Application Delivery and Security with the Browser
    • Tuesday, November 4, from 15:50-16:30 in Fantasie 2
  • Island Session: Zero Trust in Practice: The Enterprise Browser
    • Wednesday, November 5, from 13:55 to 14:35 in Illusion 3

What do you hope attendees learn at Now & Next 2025?

Peter Cooper: We want attendees to see that the browser can be a powerful security and productivity platform — not just a commodity application. By combining the IGEL OS with the Island Enterprise Browser, organizations can simplify their EUC strategy, strengthen security, and improve the user experience.

What do you hope to take away from participating in Now & Next 2025?

Peter Cooper: We’re looking forward to engaging with customers, partners, and industry leaders to better understand their challenges and priorities. These insights will help us continue to innovate and ensure our joint solutions with IGEL deliver maximum value.
